Gov’t outlines standards for AI use in new guideline
The guideline offers operational guidance for tech providers, developers, and users.
The Digital Policy Office (DPO) has released a new guideline outlining the scope, limitations, and governance principles for the use of artificial intelligence in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technical & Application Guideline addresses key technical risks such as data leakage, model bias, and system errors that need to be managed as AI adoption grows.
It also provides practical operational guidance for technology developers, service providers, and users in the application of generative AI technology.
The DPO will continue to monitor developments in generative AI and work closely with R&D centers, academic institutions, and industry groups. The guideline will be regularly updated to serve as a reference across sectors.
