CBRE names new heads for Hong Kong Island, Kowloon leasing

The appointments will take effect on 4 January 2027.

CBRE has appointed Darren Nugent as Managing Director and Head of Hong Kong Island Office Leasing and Rocky Chan as Managing Director and Head of Kowloon Office Leasing, effective 4 January 2027.

Both will report to Ada Fung, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Office Leasing at CBRE Hong Kong.

Nugent is returning to Hong Kong after five years in Australia, where he most recently served as Head of Leasing, Pacific.

He oversaw the Office, Industrial & Logistics, and Retail sectors, as well as the Consultancy practice, with a focus on strategic growth, client engagement, operational excellence, and integrated real estate solutions for occupiers.

He has more than 20 years of experience with CBRE across Ireland, Hong Kong, and Australia, advising occupiers, investors, landlords, and developers.

Chan, currently an executive director at CBRE Hong Kong, has more than 20 years of office leasing experience.

He began his career at CBRE as a graduate trainee and has advised multinational occupiers on corporate real estate strategy, portfolio optimisation, and leasing transactions across Kowloon and the New Territories.

His experience includes lease restructuring, rent reviews, and surrender negotiations, alongside relationships with major landlords throughout Kowloon.

Chan will also continue to oversee the growth of Value Properties from CBRE Hong Kong, the firm's digital platform serving SMEs seeking office, retail, and industrial space solutions.

CBRE Hong Kong's office leasing business has approximately 50 professionals.

Following the appointments, Fung will continue as Head of Office Leasing for Hong Kong and work with Nugent and Chan on the firm's business strategy.
