1.43 million flock to Hong Kong during Golden Week

Around 1.255 million travellers were from the Mainland.

Around 1.436 million travellers visited Hong Kong during the Chinese New Year Golden Week. 

Of the total visitors, 1.255 million were from the Mainland, surpassing previous years' figures.

The Immigration Department said the daily mainland visitor numbers averaged around 157,000, an increase of 25.3% compared to the Labour Day Holiday and 14.9% compared to the National Day Golden Week in 2023.

The peak day for mainland visitor arrivals was on 12 February, with approximately 186,000 visitors entering the city.

The Express Rail Link West Kowloon station received the highest daily average number of mainland visitors, followed by Lo Wu.

Around 1,980 mainland inbound tour groups also visited the city during the Golden Week, the Travel Industry Authority said.

Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Kevin Yeung noted the increased incomes in the catering and retail sectors and the success of major events held during the holiday period.
