Elderly health care voucher scheme now covers all 9 GBA cities
Two new service points in Shenzhen will also open later this month.
The government has announced that the elderly health care voucher (EHCV) Greater Bay Area pilot scheme will expand this month to Jiangmen, Huizhou, and Zhaoqing, completing coverage of all nine Mainland cities in the GBA.

Combined with the two existing points at the University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital, a total of 21 service points will now accept EHCVs, benefiting more than 1.78 million eligible Hong Kong seniors.
Under the scheme, Jiangmen Central Hospital and Huizhou Central People’s Hospital will begin providing services on 21 August, while The First People’s Hospital of Zhaoqing will launch on 28 August. In Shenzhen, Peking University Shenzhen Hospital and Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medical University will also start offering services on 28 August.
The government thanked the Health Commission of Guangdong Province and local authorities for their support, marking the full rollout of the pilot scheme as announced in the Chief Executive’s 2024 Policy Address.
