Kwai Chung eatery ordered to shut down

It'll be closed for 3 weeks.

According to a release, the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department has ordered a Kwai Chung restaurant to suspend business for three weeks for repeatedly breaching the Food Business Regulation.

The shop, on the ground floor of Kwai Chung Centre, extended its business area illegally, and was ordered to close today until February 1.

The department said the shop saw six convictions between June 2011 and last June. A total fine of $10,250 was levied and 90 demerit points were registered against it, which should result in cancellation of the licence.

The operator lodged an appeal to the Licensing Appeals Board, which decided to suspend the licence for 21 days instead.
