Fine wine auction set for September 13 and 14

Venue will be the Island Shangri-La and Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.

Acker Merrall & Condit, a leading wine auctioneer and America's oldest fine wine merchant, said its next Hong Kong auction will present 970 lots of the finest and most desirable wines valued at over US$5 million.

There will be over 90 DRC lots; more than 50 from Leroy; rare Jayer, Dujac and Rousseau lots; 20 lots each from Petrus and Lafleur and dozens of OWCs from Bordeaux and Burgundy estates.

“This will be one of our most exciting HK auctions ever, which is really saying something,” said John Kapon, CEO of Acker Merrall & Condit Companies “We couldn’t kick off the fall season in Hong Kong with a bigger bang!”

Kapon expects those who participate will be thrilled after the auction ends because there are also many exciting lots rarely seen in the market, lots that might not be seen for many years to come.

“Among those are 9 bottles of 1971 Échézeaux from a legendary barrel of wines bottled and labeled by Henri Jayer himself especially for Alexis Lichine, a true gem in terms of provenance, rarity and quality.”

Kapon said one of the world’s greatest collectors has consigned a phenomenal collection, lots 688-880, which includes the most sought-after California cult wine ever, the 1992 Screaming Eagle their first vintage, returns to the global auction market for the first time since 2008 in a twelve-bottle case.
