
Over 40% of companies adopt data collection and reconciliation systems
The poll showed that the majority of the companies are still in the early stage.
Hong Kong companies are gradually undergoing digital transformation, with more than 40% of them implementing a data collection framework through data warehouses, customer data platforms (CDPs) etc, said a report by data company fifty-five.
The response result significant change from 2024’s survey when most companies were still in planning stage
In terms of deployment, 26% of respondents applied artificial intelligence (AI) to content creation, thanks to the development of generative technology and its increasing accessibility.
The most common type was internal use case (27%), surpassing chatbots and customer service (24%).
Compared with 2024, the customer segmentation adoption rate decreased to 15% from 18%, whilst Marketing Mix Modelling case is still the lowest adoption rate of 8%.
Despite the diversity, most companies are still in the early stages of AI application, with a third of respondents saying they have not yet deployed any AI. Meanwhile, those who have rolled out the technology are focusing on productivity and cost-saving.
There were 58% of respondents who said that data quality and availability are the biggest challenges of adapting AI.
Worries about cost and return on investment (ROI) have also increased to 35% in 2025 from 30% in 2024, whilst data privacy and security issues have increased to 29% from 25% in the same period.
However, organisations are making progress in building internal capabilities and collaboration, with challenges related to resources and skills declining to 25% from 30%,
In the next 12 months, 43% of companies said they will prioritise expanding AI use cases, whilst 35% will strengthen their data infrastructure, and 27% choose to build internal AI capabilities.
