HKEX reappoints Carlson Tong as chairman
His chairmanship will coincide with his term as an HKEX board member.
Chief executive John Lee has reappointed Carlson Tong as chairman of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) with immediate effect.
Tong was re-elected by the directors at the board meeting on April 30..
Tong’s chairmanship will coincide with his term as an HKEX board member, which is set to conclude at the end of the 2027 HKEX annual general meeting.
“With Mr. Tong's continued leadership, HKEX will further enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong’s capital markets and reinforce the city's position as a leading international financial centre,” Financial Secretary Paul Chan said.
