Jobless rate rises to 3.1% in August–October period

The number of jobless individuals rose by 800.

The jobless rate for the August to October period stood at 3.1%, up from the July-to-September record.

Data from the Census & Statistics Department (C&SD) showed that the total number of unemployed people between August and October was 120,700, 800 more than the preceding period.

From August to October, the underemployment rate slightly declined to 1.1%.

Total employment and labour force likewise declined, decreasing by 3,100 to 3,707,100, and 3,700 to 42,300, respectively.
