
Inflation rose to 4.6% in March 2011
The year-on-year rate of increase in the underlying inflation rate in March was 4.4 per cent.
According to Hong Kong Information Services, despite netting out the effects of the Government's one-off relief measures, year-on-year rate still increased mainly due to enlarged increases in price of food, private housing rents and the price of cigarettes.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the average monthly rate icnrease in the composite CPI for the three-month period from January to March was 0.7%.
