Property sales down by 10.4% MoM in August

There were 388,762 land register searches in August.

The Land Registry recorded 6,462 sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in August, down 10.4% from July and up 36.6% year on year (YoY).

The value of these deals totalled $47.8b, a 12.5% drop from July but up 39.2% YoY.

Of the total, 5,291 agreements involved residential units, 8.2% fewer than in July but 44.8% more than the same month last year.

Residential transactions were worth $42.2b, down 8.9% from the previous month yet 48.2% higher YoY.
