It aims to encourage collaboration amongst its 2,400 employees with communal areas and flexible workstations.
Hang Seng Bank has opened a digital floor at its head office along Des Voeux Road in Central Hong Kong which is designed to enhance staff collaboration and productivity in a bird to develop new digital banking solutions that will meet the fast-changing demands of its customers, an announcement revealed.
With a gross area of around 15,000 sqft, the digital floor can accommodate around 150 individuals who spearhead the bank’s fintech initiatives. The space adopts an open floor layout and provides social hubs, communal areas and wireless interactive screens to encourage employees to collaborate on the development of new ideas, the firm highlighted.
“The digital floor reflects a major transition from a traditional workspace model that is dominated by standard workstations to an activity-based model that enables staff to choose from different workspace setups based on their working styles and project needs,” the bank said in a statement.
Over the next two years, more than 270,000 sqft of gross floor space at Hang Seng’s head office will undergo a comprehensive transformation to provide its 2,400 staff with an enhanced, dynamic work environment, the statement added. Its two other core buildings in MongKok and Kowloon Bay will also undergo renovation.
“In a fast-moving market, we are launching different fintech initiatives and providing customers with more digital banking solutions that integrate with their increasingly mobile lifestyles,” Hang Seng Bank’s vice-chairman and chief executive Louisa Cheang said in a statement.
The bank has rolled out artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots to offer retail banking customers round-the-clock assistance, on top of a one-stop personal payment platform and all-in-one digital payment collection service.
