End-users drive Hong Kong's commercial real estate investment

Chinese companies are snapping up quality office assets.

According to Deutsche Asset Management, commercial real estate investment remains predominantly driven by end-users as evidenced by several acquisitions of quality office assets by Chinese companies for owner occupation.

"Neighbourhood shopping centres continued to see solid demand from local investors while sales of industrial properties have remained muted following the end of the six-year long revitalization scheme in March 2016. Notwithstanding the weak performance of the trade sector, purpose-built, high specification warehouses remain keenly sought after by investors," it adds.
