Datatech Global (HK) Limited bags Technology Excellence Awards for AI-Logistics

DRun helps last mile logistics service provider to track the parcel and optimize their fleet management and also utilise their resources to maximise the profit.

Hong Kong Business honoured Asia's leading companies in technology innovation during the inaugural Technology Excellence Awards (TEA) last February 27.

The winners were outstanding companies who have made exceptional contributions through the most innovative and unique IT initiatives and solutions that enhanced their company's business in Hong Kong.

Tech companies eligible for the recognition were those that pioneered ground-breaking IT products and solutions as well as tech firms with the most innovative technology initiatives that made an impact to their businesses.

Datatech Global (HK) Limited's DRun logistics platform won the Technology Excellence Awards for AI-Logistics.

DRun enables route optimisation, fleet management, parcel tracking, address cleansing, and real-time communication. Thus, the client has real-time tracking of their parcel location. Driver’s routing could be optimized based on traffic/schedule/client request. All the data is stored and analysed for better fleet utilisation.

DRun also allows managers to locate the real-time locations of drivers through the Google Map function. The parcels can be tracked via GPS through their mobile devices, thereby removing the need to call them for confirmation. Drivers can communicate with customers along the way via DRun's mobile chatbox. This allows drivers to report the latest road status to customers without revealing the drivers’ mobile or WhatsApp numbers. Customer services may even join particular conversations to form 3-party chats in the non-disclosure chatbox to help drivers explain the delivery policies or on-site difficulties. This feature allows delivery companies to respond the customers’ enquiries in seconds and manage their expectations.

Moreover, DRun connects with Google Map to produce computer-readable addresses, i.e. recognised by Google Map, in seconds. Afterwards, based on the validated addresses, DRun’s build-in route automation would provide suggested routes on the screens of drivers’ mobile devices. The route are the synchronised traffic maps informing the shortest and most time-saving ways drivers could go from their starting points to destinations. DRun, therefore, is a useful toolkit to bring higher efficiency and thus bigger room to handle more orders with less cost.

The Technology Excellence Awards (TEA), presented by Hong Kong Business, was held on February 27 at the Conrad Hong Kong.
