DFI Retail Group scores two accolades at Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards 2025

The company received the Digital - E-Commerce and API - E-Commerce awards.

DFI Retail Group took home two accolades at the Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards 2025, highlighting its digital transformation and the development of its new Omni-Channel Management System (OMS).

Several challenges are present in selling across multiple online platforms. Amongst these are duplicated system integrations that take a period to accomplish, high data maintenance that requires several days every month, inaccurate inventory and SKU data that leads to operational inefficiency, difficult financial reconciliation due to inconsistent data formats, and the lack of a unified data view across platforms. As DFI expands its digital presence, managing these issues through separate systems has become unsustainable. 

With this, amongst the company’s core focus areas in its transformation was the unification of disparate systems into a single, cohesive digital ecosystem.

DFI Retail Group’s Digital Team implemented a new OMS, which transforms how businesses handle online and offline operations in multiple sales platforms. This system resolves operational pain points, including enhancing cost and operational efficiency, and enhancing inventory accuracy, all whilst laying the foundation for future growth in digital commerce.

With OMS, new sales channels can be added quickly at minimal cost without duplicating development or maintenance work.

The OMS features centralised master data where product details, images, and descriptions are maintained once and shared in all channels; as well as a real-time inventory sync that ensures stock levels match offline stores and that items are auto-activated or deactivated based on stock status.

The system also keeps all channels aligned with in-store pricing and offers through its price and promotion sync, automatically pulls detailed sales logs into the ERP system, and features one digital process to fulfil orders across platforms like Shopee. The Digital Team worked through a tight timeline and limited R&D resources by deploying OMS in phases, releasing features as they were completed whilst moving on to the next stage. They also enhanced collaboration with external partners by communicating timelines and setting shared goals.

Since OMS was implemented, the inventory sync times have significantly improved and overselling risks have been drastically reduced. The company also achieved a perfect order ratio by 10%, showing tangible customer experience improvements. 

Meanwhile, following the transformation initiatives, digital sales and orders have observed an increase, driven by the convenience of multiple new channels and enhanced personalisation.

Most impressively, customer satisfaction remains high, with app ratings consistently exceeding 4.5 stars, confirming that innovation aligns with consumer expectations.

Looking ahead, OMS will continue to evolve with upcoming enhancements, including advanced price and promotion integration, built-in reporting dashboards, and automated reminders and notifications.
