Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd. secures two trophies at HKB Technology Excellence Awards 2021

The company is recognized for both AI and Software IT Services categories.

For providing excellent technological services and advancement of the digital workforce of their clients, Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd. took home the 2021 HKB Technology Excellence Awards for both AI and Software - IT Service.

The HKB Technology Excellence Awards acknowledged that Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd. is one of the most outstanding companies that made exceptional contributions in pursuit of technological innovation.

As an industry-targeted information technology (IT) solutions company, Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd. has provided world-class solutions for high-tech industries, finance, manufacturing, telecom, and internet services for over 15 years in Hong Kong. It has also successfully helped cross-industrial customers ranging from insurance firms to entertainment companies with their digital transformation journey.

“Our strategy is to provide excellent IT service to help corporate businesses undergo digital transformation and put digital workforce in place,” a company spokesperson explained.

One of its specific initiatives since 2017 was working with various Natural Language Processing (NLP), conversational chatbot and robotic process automation (RPA) solutions providers to automate and streamline business operations for their clients. Industries and sectors being covered includes banking, insurance, telecommunications and manufacturing.

Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd was able to help their clients save over quarter of a million hours by streamlining internal operations using such tools. “The achievements made by the company include, but are not limited to, helping our customers increase client satisfaction and customers’ engagement,” a company spokesperson added.

According to Andy Fung, General Manager of Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd. and Program Executive of Pactera’s Intelligent Automation Practice (APAC), AI chatbot; RPA and similar automation has been very popular in recent years due to direct engagement with business users who can see and realize the benefits in a relatively short implementation time frame; such benefits are relatively simpler to build business cases to quantify and help clients embrace or “realize” the often vague industry term “Artificial Intelligence” or AI.

At the Asia Pacific level where Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd has a presence of over 38,000 employees; partnerships with various international and other Greater China software vendors well positions Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd in achieving the goal of becoming a strategic digital automation partner for its Asia Pacific clients in the Greater China Region, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore.

“During the past several years, Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd. has implemented a number of key digital transformation projects both with high-profile Asia Pacific clients and internally within our own firm. Over the course of these engagement, we have learned through hands-on experience that naturally all technology platforms have their own strengths and uniqueness; but outcome is determined by successful change management directed from top of organizations, not technology alone. Hype of AI; digital transformation and the specific description of “software robots” often brings anxiety or even fear that human workforce will be replaced. And the perceived ease in putting such automation in place often rush companies into implementing tools within organization silos; without long term planning; which makes support and scale very difficult going forward. ” Fung said.

Remarkably Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd was also able to implement such digital automation change amidst the circumstances brought on by the COVID pandemic. Due to service restrictions and the implementation of safety policies, many its clients had to find a way to dramatically adapt their existing workforce whilst continuing serving their customers.

“We have successfully automated over 200 business operations; on time and within budget which was exceptional at the height of the pandemic when all our staff and our clients stayed home! ” a company spokesperson said.

According to the company, its efforts in providing digital transformation solutions resulted in improved end user (customers of our clients) experience, clear efficiency gains and increased client bottom line financials.

The technological solutions and innovations made by Pactera (Hong Kong) Ltd. that supported other businesses in Hong Kong make them a leading IT service providers and consulting firms in the region.
