Southa's new whitepaper seeks to reduce Hong Kong buildings’ carbon footprint

Buildings are responsible for 60% of the city’s carbon emissions.

Southa Hong Kong (Southa), a joint venture of Veolia Hong Kong and Macau, has released a white paper on optimising building energy management and significantly reducing Hong Kong's carbon footprint.

With buildings responsible for 90% of the city's electricity consumption and 60% of its carbon emissions, the whitepaper provides building owners and managers with actionable solutions to reduce energy costs by up to 30%.

This includes tailored guidance to identify and implement the most effective energy-saving measures.

Moreover, the whitepaper suggests that buildings utilise technology to monitor energy consumption in real-time whilst guaranteeing the availability of the equipment and tenants' comfort.

Building owners must also implement energy-efficient cooling solutions to minimise environmental impact and fine-tune building systems for optimal performance and energy efficiency.
