Cathay Pacific’s passenger volume grows 19.6% YoY n in October
The airline attributed the increase to operating more than 10,000 flights.
Cathay Pacific's passenger volume rose 19.6% YoY to 2,014,105 passengers in October 2024.
The airline attributed the increase to operating more than 10,000 passenger and cargo flights in a month for the first time this year.
Apart from passenger volume, the airline’s revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) and capacity measured in available seat kilometres (ASK) also increased, rising 19.1% YoY and 21.3 YoY, respectively.
Between January and October 2024, passenger numbers grew by 27.4% to 18,567,818. The airline also achieved a 32.7% YoY increase in ASKs and a 26.8% YoY increase in RPKs.
The airline’s cargo businesses also reported positive volume growth, with total cargo carried rising 14.3% YoY to 142,323 tonnes.
Cargo revenue tonne kilometres (RFTKs) and cargo load factor also rose in October, rising 9.8% YoY and 0.8 points to 61.5%.
In the first 10 months of 2024, tonnage rose 10.4% to 1,245,899 tonnes.
