Cathay Pacific surpasses 20 million passengers in September

Its cargo businesses reported positive volume growth.

Cathay Pacific's passenger volume surpassed the 20 million mark in September 2024.

Including the low-cost airline HK Express, the group carried over 21 million passengers last month.

Cathay Pacific alone transported 1.82 million passengers in September, a 17.8% YoY increase.

Apart from passenger volume, the airline’s revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) and capacity measured in available seat kilometres (ASK) also increased, rising 18.4% YoY and 21.7 YoY, respectively.

The airline group’s passenger load factor, however, decreased by 2.3 percentage points to 81.4%,

Meanwhile, the airline’s cargo businesses reported positive volume growth, with total cargo carried rising 10.9% YoY to 133,079 tonnes.
