Lendela, TransUnion roll out free credit data checking tool in Hong Kong

Hong Kong consumers can check their credit score at no cost.

Loan matching platform Lendela is partnering with credit reference agency TransUnion to introduce a free credit-checking tool to Hong Kong consumers.

Hong Kong consumers can now securely check their credit data, including a credit score, at no cost directly via Lendela’s platform.

It will not have any impact on their credit scores, Lendela and TransUnion said in a joint statement.

The platform will also offer personalised loan options from various financial institutions instantly.

This comes as over a quarter or 27% of Hong Kong consumers admitted to not knowing their credit score, based on TransUnion’s latest Consumer Pulse Study.

TransUnion was part of Hong Kong’s Credit Data Smart (CDS) initiative. Launched in April 2024, it offers a free annual credit report to Hong Kong consumers.
