Hong Kong approves 3 airlines' fuel surcharges hike

All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines raise fuel surcharges by 3-5%.

The Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong government on Tuesday approved a 3 percent and 5 percent rise in passenger fuel surcharges levied for short-haul and long-haul flights by All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines.

Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines will charge a 100 HK dollars surcharge for short-haul flights, and 506 HK dollars for long-haul flights in October. All Nippon Airways will have a 100 HK dollars surcharge, according to a Trading Markets report.

The department considers and approves surcharge applications in accordance with the bilateral Air Services agreements.
