Over 4 in 5 investors expect tokenised equities to hit $78.5b by June 2027

Two in five who traded these securities reported a dramatic increase in use.

More than four out of five investors expect the tokenised equities market to reach at least $78.5b (US$10b) in on-chain trading volumes by June 2027, up from $30.2b (US$3.86b) in May 2026, according to a ST0x report.

About 17% of respondents predicted the market would reach between $39.25b (US$5b) and $78.5b (US$10b), whilst 33% expected it to reach between $78.5b (US$10b) and $117.75b (US$15b).

Another 33% predicted trading volumes would reach between $117.75b (US$15b) and $157b (US$20b), whilst 17% expected them to exceed $157b (US$20b).

Half of respondents said they had traded tokenised equities regularly, whilst 33% had traded them experimentally. A further 17% planned to enter the market within the next 12 months.

Of the respondents who had traded tokenised equities, 40% said they had increased their use dramatically in the past 12 months, whilst 60% reported a slight increase.

“The strongest signal of tokenised equities’ growing relevance is not simply the size of the market, but the fact that investors who are already using them are increasing their activity,” said Nick Magliocchetti, Director of S01 Issuer GmbH and Director of ST0x Group.

Global asset liquidity and seamless access to international markets ranked as the leading benefits of tokenised equities, followed by 24/7 market access, lower transaction costs, and instant settlement.

Forty-two percent of respondents said tokenised securities were fully eligible under their investment mandates, whilst 58% said allocations were permitted with additional approval or exceptions.
