Acquisition of Central skyscraper may post the largest property loan at $33b since 2015

A Chinese-led consortium is seeking to acquire billionaire Li Ka-shing’s The Center.

Brace yourselves for what could be the largest property loan since 2015 as Bloomberg reports that a Chinese-led consortium is reportedly seeking a $33b financing package to buy luxury skyscraper The Center.

At $33b, the loan to acquire the Central skyscraper would be the largest real estate-related financing since billionaire Li Ka-shing borrowed $55b to spin off Cheung Kong Property Holdings, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

However, insider sources reveal to Bloomberg that the terms of the loan are still being finalised and that the final value could still be subject to further change.
