Transport Dep’t issues HKeToll tags to 610,000 vehicles

Owners of cars without tags must complete the payments digitally.

The Hong Kong Transport Department issued more than 610,000 HKeToll vehicle tags and reminded owners to place them on their windshields.

Commissioner for Transport, Rosanna Law, said those who did not apply for an HKeToll vehicle tag but need their cars to go through any tunnel with the e-toll collection system must complete their payments through the website or mobile app.

Law then warned the owners about the electrostatic devices in the market, claiming they could protect vehicle tags as they could affect the accuracy of the system's detection ability.
