HK Mineral Boutique owner not part of DNA Brands probe, Singapore watchdog says
The CCS refund scheme covers Singapore outlets run by DNA Brands.
The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCS) has clarified that The Mineral Boutique Limited in Hong Kong was not subject to its investigation into DNA Brands Co Pte Ltd.
The watchdog said in an update dated 11 August that references to The Mineral Boutique concerned specific Singapore outlets operated by DNA Brands under The Mineral Boutique name.
The Mineral Boutique Limited is the Hong Kong-registered owner of The Mineral Boutique brand and trademarks.
CCS had earlier secured a commitment of up to $1m in refunds for consumers affected by unfair sales practices at beauty and wellness outlets operated by DNA Brands.
The watchdog’s investigation found that an area manager and certain employees had used coordinated pressure tactics since 2023 to induce customers into unintended purchases.
The Singapore outlets identified under CCS’ refund scheme include locations at Jewel Changi Airport, NEX and Wheelock Place, which were operated by DNA Brands.
Consumers who may be eligible for refunds can contact the Consumers Association of Singapore.
