Private flat supply to hit 107,000 in 3-4 years

The latest projection is 2,000 more than the previous estimate.

Hong Kong's Housing Bureau now expects private flat supply to hit 107,000 in three to four years, 2,000 more than the previous estimate.

Breaking down the estimate, the bureau said there were 18,000 unsold units in completed projects at the end of March 2023, 65,000 units under construction, excluding those pre-sold by the developers, and 25,000 units from sold properties where development may begin anytime.

There were also 2,300 flats under construction in Q1, and 6,800 units completed during the period.
