Government to resume 1,043 private lots for San Tin Phase 2

Land reverts to the government on 26 December, with move-outs from early 2027.

The Lands Department has posted notices to resume 1,043 private lots covering about 44.2 hectares for the first batch of San Tin Technopole development Phase 2.

Under the Lands Resumption Ordinance, eight private lots covering about 0.3 hectares will also be resumed for the third batch of Phase 1, the department said.

The government will also acquire land occupied by 67 graves and 148 urns, covering about 1,985 square metres, as well as land occupied by two fishponds totalling 325 square metres, under the Land Acquisition (Possessory Title) Ordinance.

The department said the project is projected to create more than 300,000 full-time jobs once fully operational, whilst the first residents of Phase 1 are set to move in from 2031.

The land will revert to the government on 26 December, with affected parties expected to begin moving out from the first quarter of 2027.

Notices will be issued about three months before the relevant departure deadlines.
