China Rich Oriental Hotel for sale by private treaty
It can be converted into student housing or worker accommodation, said CBRE.
China Rich Oriental Hotel at Shau Kei Wan Road is up for sale by private treaty, according to marketing agent CBRE.
The property is a recently completed hotel, obtaining its occupation permit in 2022. It comprises 67 rooms, including a top-floor duplex suite, with approximately 21,953 square feet (sqft) of gross floor area
The hotel could be converted into student housing, worker accommodation, or serviced apartments, CBRE said.
It is within walking distance of Shau Kei Wan and Sai Wan Ho MTR stations, and about 30 minutes by train from The University of Hong Kong.
Nearby establishments include the Oi Tung Shopping Centre, Tai On Building, and Shau Kei Wan Main Street East.
Joseph Wong, associate director of capital markets at CBRE Hong Kong, said that many hotels are being converted into student housing in Hong Kong.
“The supply of en‑bloc hotels available for sale has gradually diminished, and on Hong Kong Island such opportunities are even more scarce,” Wong said in an announcement on 12 October 2026.
