Land donors encouraged to tap NGOs

Government to back up with more land supply.

According to a report, secretary for Development Paul Chan said potential land donors should approach non-profit organisations to help take forward projects that would realise their ideals.

Speaking to the media today, Mr Chan said land donors have different ideals and impose different conditions on their proposals, adding there are many factors to consider when determining if land is suitable for development.

Mr Chan said if non-profit organisations carry out projects related to public policies, the Government will welcome their input, and do its best to cooperate with them.

He added that the Government will continue to increase the supply of land and public housing to ease the shortage.
