Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak met with Sichuan Provincial People's Government Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office Director Zhang Tao to talk about district governance between the two parties.

According to Mak, authorities had sent district council (DC) members to Zhejiang Province and Shanghai to learn about the their principles of grassroots governance.

She said this move continuously enhances DC members' capabilities in discharging their duties.

Talking about the youth's understanding of China, Mak said the bureau has been conducting exchange and internship programmes which includes the Youth Internship Programme at Wolong Region of Giant Panda National Park in Sichuan.
