Gov’t to enhance measures against illegal parking

It will continue to conduct daily monitoring, surprise inspections, and regular meetings.

The Housing Department (HD) will enhance existing illegal parking measures in public rental housing (PRH) estates to ensure roads, especially emergency vehicular access, remain unobstructed.

This follows the Office of the Ombudsman report on its direct investigation into the illegal parking issue in PRH estates.

The HD said it will continue to conduct daily monitoring, surprise inspections, and regular meetings with service contractors to ensure they have effectively executed their obligations.

To strengthen road control, the HD’s Mobile Operations Unit will depend on actual circumstances from estate offices to carry out surprise enforcement.
