Wang Fuk Court owners begin SSE flat selection

About 1,700 Wang Fuk Court owners opted for the SSE.

Wang Fuk Court owners began selecting replacement flats under Hong Kong’s Special Sales Exercise (SSE) on 30 September, with about 35 households joining the first session.

The Housing Bureau is inviting applicants in batches based on a computer-generated random ballot. The selection process is expected to finish by the end of November.

The sessions are held at the Housing Authority (HA) Green Form Subsidised Home Ownership Scheme Sales Unit in Kwun Tong. A sales exhibition at the venue provides information on the available projects, including first-time displays of models for Yan Nga Court and Hiu Nga Court on Chung Nga Road West in Tai Po.

By the 31 August deadline, 1,971 owners from Wang Fuk Court’s eight buildings had accepted the Government’s acquisition offer, representing 99.3% of all units. About 1,700 owners opted to join the SSE.

Owners who have signed an Agreement for Sale & Purchase confirming the sale of their flat titles to the Government will be invited to select flats. If their titles have not yet been assigned to the Government, a new SSE flat will be reserved during the selection process.

More than 4,400 flats across 10 Housing Authority or Housing Society development projects have been reserved for owners who sold their flat titles to the Government. The flats are available for purchase or under the “Flat-for-Flat” arrangement.

The projects are in Kowloon Bay, Kai Tak, Kam Tin, Tseung Kwan O, Ping Shan, Tung Chung, Tai Po, Fanling and Kwun Tong.

Saleable areas range from about 280 to 560 square feet, with about 2,800 units measuring 400 square feet or more, accounting for more than 60% of the reserved flats.

The Housing Bureau said the number of reserved flats exceeds the number of participating owners, giving applicants a range of choices based on their selection priorities.
