Ping An Digital Bank founding chairman Yip returns to lead board
Lau will transition to the role of advisor to the chief executive.
Ping An Digital Bank has appointed Dicky Peter Yip as chairman of the board.
He is the founding chairman of Ping An Digital Bank, formerly Ping An OneConnect Bank (Hong Kong) and PAObank from August 2019 to November 2021.
James Henry Lau Jr., the incumbent chairman, will transition to the role of advisor to the chief executive beginning 1 October 2026, the Hong Kong-based digital bank said in a 15 September statement. Lau has served as chairman since November 2021.
Yip has served as chairman and independent non-executive director of Laufax since April 2025.
Yip previously worked as chief executive of China business at the Area Office China of HSBC, general manager of HSBC, and executive vice president of Bank of Communications.
He Pingalso served director roles at DBS Bank Hong Kong, DBS Bank (China), Ping An Insurance, and the original Ping An Bank.
