More than half of employees turn to AI for work advice

Trust in executives fell, whilst managers gained trust.

Workers are increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) for guidance at work, with 57% of employees now turning to it for work advice instead of consulting their direct managers, according to a Randstad report.

Trust levels in leadership also vary as trust in executive leadership slips 4% to 74% year on year (YoY), whilst trust in direct managers rises 4% to 69% YoY.

The report also noted that 43% of employees believe AI adoption will benefit companies more than themselves, with 77% of workers saying AI has improved productivity, compared with 50% of employers.

Randstad added that 60% of employers have invested in AI over the past year.

The report also highlights differing expectations on job displacement, with 65% of employers expecting at least half of entry-level roles to disappear within five years, whilst 45% of white-collar professionals hold the same view.

Randstad notes rising demand for AI-related roles, with global job postings for “AI Agent” expertise increasing by 1,587% and demand for “AI Trainers” rising by 247% in 2025.
