JD Kai Bo links loyalty and shopping to HKChat AI
Retail interaction moves into a conversational AI layer inside the shopping ecosystem.
HKChat has formed a strategic partnership with JD Kai Bo Supermarket to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into retail operations, linking user platforms, loyalty systems, and shopping functions, according to a press release.
The collaboration connects HKChat—an AI assistant developed by the Hong Kong Generative AI Research and Development Center (HKGAI), with more than 720,000 registered users—and JD Kai Bo Supermarket, the Hong Kong retail arm of JD.com.
Under the agreement, both parties will combine user channels to support user growth and cross-segment marketing, whilst integrating their loyalty systems, allowing users to exchange points across both platforms.
HKChat will deploy its conversational AI technology within JD Kai Bo Supermarket’s shopping system, where users will be able to search for products, place orders, and access customer support through natural language interaction.
The partnership also aims to support technical integration between both systems to enable AI-assisted retail functions, the press release added.
JD Kai Bo Supermarket has operated in Hong Kong for nearly 30 years and is part of JD.com’s retail network. HKChat is developed by HKGAI.
Both companies said they will continue to expand integration across services and systems.
