HK, Informa Markets Asia drive sustainable solutions in exhibition sector

It aims to support Informa’s initiative to reduce waste through reusable stand solutions.

The Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) formally endorsed Informa Markets Asia’s Better Stands Programme to advance sustainable practices in the exhibition sector.

The partnership highlights Hong Kong's commitment to push for a greener exhibition sector by supporting Informa’s initiative to reduce waste through reusable stand solutions.

The exhibition industry has long contended with the environmental repercussions of single-use stands, which contribute tonnes of waste annually.

Since its inception in 2023, the Better Stands Programme has achieved progress, including the implementation of a reusability framework categorising stands as Disposable, Bronze, Silver, or Gold.

The partnership will focus on creating workshops to educate stakeholders and promote the program's expansion to other organisers and contractors throughout Hong Kong.
