HAECO and CALC to develop joint engine platform

The agreement will see both firms explore an engine quick-turn platform in Hong Kong.

HAECO and China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop an engine lifecycle support platform in Hong Kong.

According to a statement, the MoU sets out a strategic framework for the two companies to collaborate on establishing an engine quick-turn platform in Hong Kong. Initial areas of focus include quick-turn engine services, hospital repair, and engine asset management.

The partnership will also seek to optimise the utilisation of used serviceable materials and enhance value across the aircraft lifecycle. HAECO will contribute its maintenance, repair and overhaul expertise, whilst CALC brings aircraft asset management and commercial support.

"Hong Kong has long been recognised as a global centre for aviation, supported by its strategic location, world-class infrastructure and deep industry expertise. We are delighted to partner with HAECO to advance high value-added aviation services in Hong Kong and the wider region," said Mike Poon, CEO of CALC.
