HSBC supports HKMC’s $12b digital bond issuance
The transaction was described as the largest-ever digital bond issuance globally.
HSBC supported the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation (HKMC) Limited’s $12b inaugural public digital bond issuance.
The bank acted as joint global coordinator, joint bookrunner, joint lead manager, fiscal agent, and principal paying agent for the transaction.
HSBC Orion served as the digital assets platform for the issuance.
HSBC said the transaction is the largest-ever digital bond issuance globally.
HKMC is also the first Hong Kong public sector entity to issue digital bonds.
The transaction set a new benchmark, with the five-year HKD tranche becoming the longest tenor ever for an HKD-denominated digital bond.
