Manulife pushes annuity plan to counter retirement risks

GoldenStart includes additional payouts triggered by diagnosis before age 80.

Manulife Hong Kong and Macau launched two new solutions designed to help customers strengthen long‑term financial preparedness and provide essential accident protection.

The first solution, GoldenStart Whole Life Immediate Annuity Insurance Plan, offers customers a predictable and stable income stream throughout retirement, supporting financial independence while helping address changing living and healthcare needs.

Additionally, the "By Your Side" feature within GoldenStart provides extra annual payments for up to 10 years if the insured is diagnosed with Severe Dementia or Parkinson’s Disease before the age of 80. 

The second, Thankful Care, is a whole-life accident insurance plan.

It provides coverage for accidental death, loss of limb, or total disablement, with benefits reaching up to 100% of the notional amount. The plan also features a "double indemnity" clause, which doubles the payout for injuries sustained during specific designated accident events.
