How can SMEs benefit from HKPC's new digital portal

The portal will offer digital solutions and awareness.

A digital DIY portal was debuted to guide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in digital transformation in the wake of digitalisation trend amongst businesses, multi-disciplinary organisation, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), said.

In a statement, HKPC said their online platform will provide enterprises with solution providers for cheap and highly-efficient digital solutions. There will also be digital and innovation and technology activities, and related training courses. 

The portal has over 100 business digital application solutions that covers e-commerce, smart office management, network security solutions, e-marketing, and data analytics. 

These solutions include flexible payment methods such as monthly or pay-as-you-go charges, which can prevent SMEs’ worries about upfront investment in digital shift.

There are also online and offline events that will improve SMEs’ awareness on digital transformation such as Digital DIY Live, industry seminars, 1:1 consultation sessions and related training.

Aside from solutions, the portal will also provide offers for its users until 30 June such as free broadband services, access to Microsoft programs, and free cybersecurity assessment. In July, the portal will turn into its full version where there are more digital transition strategies offered for SMEs, more webinars as well as solution demonstration to connect technology service providers to SMEs.

Over 100 trade and industrial organisations and technology partners backed the portal including Microsoft Hong Kong, Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Hong Kong Chinese Importers' & Exporters' Association, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, and Hong Kong General Chamber of Small and Medium Business and Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprise Association.
