HKSTP, Visa to explore AI commerce pilots in Hong Kong
The partnership will also examine digital-payment applications in logistics and fintech.
Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and Visa have signed an agreement to develop and test new AI-commerce and digital-payment applications in Hong Kong.
The memorandum of understanding was signed during Hong Kong FinTech Week x StartmeupHK 2026.
The organizations will collaborate across AI and agentic commerce, digital payments and industry engagement.
Under the agreement, Visa and HKSTP will identify, develop and pilot applications for Hong Kong using Visa’s AI and commerce technologies, including Visa Intelligent Commerce.
Solutions developed through the partnership may subsequently be considered for expansion into the Greater Bay Area and other regional markets.
The organizations will also explore digital-payment applications in logistics, fintech and other innovation-driven industries.
The initiative is intended to give technology ventures opportunities to apply Visa’s payment capabilities in real-world business settings and advance the digitalization of payments.
Visa and HKSTP also plan to organize knowledge-sharing and industry-engagement activities covering AI, agentic commerce, fintech and digital payments.
Paulina Leong, general manager of Visa Hong Kong and Macau, said the partnership would combine Visa’s global network and technology with HKSTP’s local startup ecosystem.
She said the collaboration could help Hong Kong innovators turn ideas into commercial solutions and expand into international markets.
HKSTP CEO Terry Wong said the agreement would expand the organization’s network for supporting technology ventures and contribute to Hong Kong’s innovation and technology sector.
