HK’s Internet traffic grows by 37% from 2023 to 2025
It was due to the proliferation of over-the-top services.
Hong Kong’s peak internet exchange traffic grew by 37% from April 2023 to April 2025, according to an Equinix report.
The report said that the proliferation of over-the-top services, cloud computing, and online gaming has been driving internet traffic over the past years.
Moreover, the increasing adoption of bandwidth-intensive applications for artificial intelligence and machine learning is set to further propel traffic levels.
With the Hong Kong government’s Innovation and Technology Development Blueprint, supplemented by an upcoming $10b Innovation and Technology Industry-Oriented Fund, the city is poised to channel even more resources into emerging technologies and strategic industries.
