Government unveils extensive map and land survey platform

The Hong Kong Map Service 2.0 has digital versions of land survey records.

The Lands Department has rolled out Hong Kong Map Service 2.0, a one-stop platform that will make available a wide range of map products and land survey records for the public.

According to a government statement, the website offers comprehensive digital and paper map information including aerial, spatial, topographic information, cadastral records and gazette plans.

It also features digitised versions of land survey records including digital images of Lot Index Plan and Demarcation District Sheets, and product preview function.

"Through HKMS 2.0, the public can easily search for lot and location information anytime and anywhere. They can also download various types of digital maps, aerial photos and land survey records after making payment," a  spokesperson said in a statement.

HKMS 2.0 also enables the purchase of paper map products. its connection with the Application Programming Interface of Hongkong Post's delivery service enables delivery to designated locations, doing away with the need to visit the Map Publications Center for making purchases.

Users can register and log on to the website via designated social media accounts.
