Google HK, Pokémon GO launch 'PokéStops' at 3 recycling stations

Players can collect in-game items at the designated stops on 7 and 8 December.

Google Hong Kong and Pokémon GO have partnered to launch limited-time "PokéStops" at GREEN@COMMUNITY Recycling Stations across Hong Kong.

The new stops are located at GREEN@WAN CHAI, GREEN@KWUN TONG, and GREEN@SHA TIN.

This collaboration followed Google Play Hong Kong's announcement of its best apps and game developers, with a total of 18 apps and games receiving awards across nine apps and nine game categories.

Both the GREEN$ Mobile App and Pokémon GO have extensive user bases in Hong Kong, leveraging the Google Maps application programming interface for a smooth recycling and gaming experience.

As part of the Pokémon GO City Safari event, players can collect in-game items at the designated "PokéStops" on 7 and 8 December.

Since the launch of the GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme in November 2020, the initiative has gained over one million users, according to Christopher Lam, Senior Environmental Protection Officer of the Environmental Protection Department.
