1 in 3 businesses prioritise emerging technologies: survey

Hong Kong ranked second globally as most optimistic about budget growth at 49%. 

One in three businesses in Hong Kong prioritise the need to implement emerging technologies with 25% utilising IT to search for new revenue streams, according to a study conducted by Colt Technology Services.

The study revealed that along with improving security (47%), around 42% of IT leaders from Hong Kong prioritise investing in AI and machine learning capabilities for the next 12 months.

Cloud migration continued to be a top priority in Hong Kong at 26%, whereas one in five businesses have identified investing in collaboration applications as a vital need. 

Improving network flexibility also remained as a priority (28%) with 24% of Hong Kong’s IT leaders focusing on establishing a remote workforce.

Colt Technology’s research was based on 1,114 IT decision-makers and those responsible for digital infrastructure services, in businesses across 12 regions between 30 November and 14 December 2023.
