Sales and business development roles are highly sought after, with 34% of employers focusing on these positions. The demand for technology professionals and digital transformation experts also remains strong.
Employers are also prioritising candidates with data analytics, business acumen, and multilingual skills (Cantonese, English, Mandarin). Proficiency in data visualisation tools like Power BI and Tableau is also increasingly valued.
Randstad also noted salary expectations are rising, with 36% of companies planning 3-5% salary increases in 2025.
Bonuses for 2024 performance will mostly range between 1-2 months, with skilled professionals able to negotiate 15-20% salary increments when changing roles.
In accounting and finance, demand is driven by Chinese companies’ international expansion, whilst the banking sector seeks Relationship Managers, AI-skilled traders, and KYC specialists.
The human resources sector is focusing on HR business partners and talent acquisition specialists with strategic capabilities. Meanwhile, insurance companies are investing in partnership distribution, digital transformation, and regulatory compliance roles.
Legal professionals with fintech compliance expertise and digital proficiency are highly sought after. In-house legal teams now prefer candidates with prior in-house experience for better cultural fit and retention.
Workforce trends highlight increased investments in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Flexible work arrangements and mental health support have also become essential for attracting and retaining talent.
