HKTDC and UOB Hong Kong sign MoU to strengthen GBA-ASEAN trade ties
It will help businesses expand across Asia.
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Singapore-based bank UOB Hong Kong have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost trade, connectivity, and business collaboration between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and ASEAN.
The agreement, announced at the ASEAN Conference 2025 in Singapore, makes UOB Hong Kong the first Singapore-based bank to partner formally with HKTDC.
The MOU was signed by HKTDC Director (Singapore) Vivienne Chee and UOB Hong Kong CEO Adaline Zheng.
The partnership will help businesses expand across Asia by combining UOB’s regional banking network and financial services with HKTDC’s trade promotion expertise. It aims to support enterprise development, create jobs, and strengthen regional supply chains.
The two organisations will collaborate on joint programmes, investment matching, and knowledge sharing to facilitate trade, attract investment, and increase market access across the GBA and ASEAN.
