
Prudential adds former Swiss Re CIO Guido Fürer to board
Meanwhile, Amy Yip will step down from the Board on 31 October.
Prudential plc has appointed Guido Fürer as a non-executive director and also serve on the company’s Audit and Risk Committees.
Fürer brings over two decades of global experience in insurance and asset management.
He spent 25 years at Swiss Re Group, including 11 years as Group Chief Investment Officer and a member of the Global Executive Committee.
He also served as Country President for Switzerland and chaired the Group Strategic Council.
Prior to Swiss Re, he held senior roles in options trading and capital markets at Swiss Bank Corp and O’Connor and Associates.
He previously served on the board of FWD Group from 2018 to 2022, where he chaired the Group Risk Committee, gaining exposure to several of Prudential’s key Asian markets.
He currently sits on the board of Baloise Group and chairs its Risk & Investment Committee.
Separately, Prudential announced that Amy Yip will step down from the Board on 31 October after six years of service.
Yip joined the Board in 2019 and has held roles on the Audit and Remuneration Committees during her tenure.
