TAG appoints John Tsang as new senior advisor following Hong Kong office expansion

He was Hong Kong's former financial secretary from 2007 to 2017.

The Asia Group (TAG) announced the expansion of its Hong Kong office and team and has appointed John Tsang, former Financial Secretary of Hong Kong, as the firm’s senior advisor based in Hong Kong.

The expansion in Hong Kong is headed by George Chen, TAG's Managing Director for Hong Kong & Taiwan and Co-Chair of the TAG Digital Practice.

“I am glad to have the opportunity to be part of TAG’s global family,” said Tsang. “I look forward to engaging with TAG clients and partners to exchange views on important policy issues, financial services, education, and emerging technologies to drive business outcomes.”

Tsang was Hong Kong’s longest-serving Financial Secretary from 2007 to 2017, playing a role in shaping the city’s economic landscape.

Additionally, TAG welcomes Senior Associate Melissa Ho and Associate Issac Chan to its Hong Kong office, which is located in the city’s financial district by Victoria Harbour.

Ho and Chan bring experience in policy research and analysis that will enhance TAG’s technical capacity to address regulatory challenges and opportunities in various sectors.

Ho joined TAG from the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong, where she served as an economic specialist.

Meanwhile, Chan was a policy analyst at the Federation of Hong Kong Industries before joining TAG.

TAG also has regional offices in Tokyo, Taipei, Shanghai, Hanoi, Bangkok, New Delhi, and Mumbai. Founded and headquartered in Washington, D.C. in 2013, TAG now has more than 120 professionals globally.
