Find out what else he said here.
According to a release, Chief Executive CY Leung urges people, especially those who oppose the implementation of moral and national education in schools, to respect schools' autonomy to decide whether to implement, and when and how to implement the subject.
Speaking to the media before attending an Executive Council meeting, Mr Leung said he hopes people will let schools decide freely what to do after the Government’s decision to shelve the national education guidelines.
He said ExCo will discuss the Lamma Island ferry tragedy, and the Chief Secretary will announce follow-up actions today.
